Apple Running Windows Desktop

Hi,everyone

The announcement of Apple's transition to Intel processors in June 2005 has allowed Macs to run Windows natively. Apple Boot Camp Beta announced on April 5, 2006, and the final version is in Apple's latest operating system, Mac OS X Leopard (10.5), released on October 26, 2007.

Sure, going to go into the differences between Parallels and VMware Fusion when the final version of VMware Fusion is released around August.

Thank you very much for the well written article. Save a lot of trouble to reply to all "Boot Camp vs. XXXX" issues that seem to pop up every 10 sec.

Someone needs to sticky this. Stop all new mac switchers who do not know what to look for means continually asking the same question over and over and over and...

Agreed. Same with the other item on the Elimination of Apple Mac OSX and Mac play critical files, such as the user folder and the iPhoto library. (Not crucial, but the change can cause headaches)

Great post. 2 weeks ago I needed this ... At the moment I am mainly using boot camp to boot into Vista for work. I boot OSX to play (internet browsing, instant messaging). But very rarely.

Now, please make sure that we will keep the posts subject. Posts on the subject is not removed and ABSOLUTELY NO WINDOWS VS OS X. This message is to help people run Windows on a Mac regardless of their reasoning.

Hmmm, from the Parallels website I do not see anywhere that says shows Windows applications in states, but has said Parallels Coherence feature (similar to VMware unit) so you can run Windows applications without the window open Parallels.

Ran parallel to my iMac before I sold it. Worked quite well actually. However, the MBP I picked up last night I installed Bootcamp 1.3 and not a full install Vista Home Prem. Everything is working as a gem at this time.

There is a big difference between the two that could ultimately force you to choose Fusion over Parallels, which is in support of DirectX. Parallels support DirectX 9.0, while the merger at this time only supports DirectX 8.1. This means that many current games may not run under the merger.
