AGE IS NO barrier to quality. The IXUS 75 has a few years on many of its rivals, but is up there with the Fujifilm overleaf as the best in our mammoth test. Build is superlative and you get face detection, numerous shooting modes, and ISO up to 1600. Starting in one second and focusing almost as soon as you hit the shutter, it's also incredibly fast. There's no image stabiliser, looks are functional rather than chic and the LCD is a bit smeary and, in low light, dottier but that won't stop you churning out fantastic, well-exposed, 7-meg prints with tons of detail. The IXUS 75 may be oldsville and lacking the latest gear, daddio, but it's still hep to the groovy beat when it comes to quality snappage.
