Archos 405 Generation 5 is the newest personal media player that equipped with a 30GB storage space. Unlike the previous 2GB version using flash memory, the new 30GB version is hard drive based.


The 405 30GB could provides DVD quality video playback on its 16M color 3.5″ screen, enhanced ARCLibrary music customization options, and instant photo transfer capability. The optional Gen 5 DVR Station provides full DVR capability with one-touch scheduling and recording, and an integrated electronic program guide.
Like other range of Archos products, the 405 only provides basic functions. Support for various video formats such as MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 must be installed via separately purchased “Cinema” and “Podcast” plug-ins. The 405 30GB is available for purchase from the Archos web store for $295, and will be available at European retail stores at the end of this month.
