Tracerpt.exe hogging on my CPU

Hi friends, I was marveling it is usual for this procedure called "Tracerpt.exe" to be employing 25% of my CPU?

I tried slaying the procedure but it won't effort and resuming the PC doesn't help neither.

Also I can't discover the procedure in Windows Task Manager.

Tracerpt.exe is a Windows procedure but many spiteful parts of code have camouflaged themselves as Windows procedures.

Boot into Safe Mode (hit F8 frequently while booting) and run an anti-virus program.

If tracert.exe is situated in a subfolder of C:\Windows, then the safety rating is 80% hazardous. File size is 70,656 bytes. There is no account of the program. The program is not noticeable. It is an indefinite file in the Windows folder. Program starts upon Windows set up (see Registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre nt Version\Run). Tracert.exe is not a Windows core file. Tracert.exe is able to monitor functions.

I booted into secure mode and did a full scan with ad-aware and kaspersky internet safety, but yet have no fortune.

Any other proposal?

Thanks!

Alright so I direct to end Tracerpt.exe and StartManSvc.exe through Resource Monitor in Windows Task Manager, then resumed my PC and both of the procedures seem to go away. No more CPU hogging.

So my next query is these 2 procedures (Tracerpt.exe and StartManSvc.exe) fundamental or I can do devoid of them? Anybody else operating Windows 7 64bit cares to ctrl+alt+delete ---> Windows Task Manager ---> Performance tab ----> click Resource Monitor (at the base) and observe if these 2 procedures are operating on your system? Thanks.

StartManSvc.exe is fraction of the PC Tools restart and close monitoring service.

Maybe that was reasoning your Tracerpt.exe to go wild.

My friend told you where it is in the registry. Enter and delete it..... start/run/regedit................or start/msconfiguration........... Appear under start up and services. Remove verify mark from box.
