Clickfree Portable Backup Drive

This portable hard drive comes in a smart looking casing with silver metallic finish on both corners. You get two bright blue LED indicators, one for power and the other for activity. Thankfully, other than the silver finish the rest of the hard drive has a matte finish. It has a mini USB port on top and an extra 5V DC socket, if extra power is required (although it does not come with a power adapter).

We tested the hard drive for transfer speed on Windows XP. In the HDTune benchmark the hard drive scored an average 24.3MB/s transfer speed. The Seagate Freeagent scored 23.6MB/s in the same test. In HDTune, the Clickfree drive was able to get an average of 28Mb/s transfer speed. The average transfer speed of the Clickfree was marginally better than both Seagate and Western Digital's portable drives, which is very impressive.

The best part is the simple to use backup software. It supports over 400 file types and automatically takes a backup of your data when connected. You only need to select the files you want to backup and the software takes care of the rest. Restoring is also very simple and works in the same way. In our test, the software was able to backup 7GB of data in just about 15 minutes, which is very impressive. Another thing that goes in the drive's favour is that the backup software works in Mac as well. A must have irrespective of whether backup is your priority or
not.
